The great thing about this male enhancement blog is that it gives us a chance to address questions that visitors have asked us. With that said, some of you have written into us with questions about penis enlargement surgery so we thought that this would be a good opportunity to talk about this procedure.
There are many male medical clinics that perform surgical procedures to make the penis look bigger. Penis enlargement surgery is known as phalloplasty. This procedure is not as simple as one might think. A lot of people (yes this includes some of you visitors) believe that this procedure is similar to women’s breast augmentation (enlargement) surgery – which of course is so common nowadays that we consider it almost routine.
Guys, it’s not even close.
Though there are many methods of phalloplasty, there are two common ways the procedure can be done. One surgery involves cutting through the supportive ligament of the penis. This allows the penis to droop further down which gives the appearance of a longer look when not erect. Part of the organ is normally hidden by tissue at the base of the penis so cutting part of the ligament adds some length. The other type of surgery involves injecting fat into the penis to give it a fuller look. By the way, before any of these surgeries are performed, some clinics require that men wear weights on the penis for a few months – in other words, it’s not a quick and simple procedure.
So, for anyone who’s considering surgical “male enhancement” procedures, be aware that these surgeries are very expensive not to mention extremely risky. And…unlike breast augmentation surgery, phalloplasty is irreversible. Complications may include bleeding, infection and permanent deformation of the penis. Some patients who’ve undergone phalloplasty surgery report that their penises (when erect) no longer come up as high as before the procedure was done. Others also report a loss of sensation.
All in all, unless advised by a urologist, these procedures should not be taken lightly – this is why we don’t recommend them!
